The thread on Soviet Hurricanes got me thinking that it would be great to see some pictures of some of the aircraft recovered in recent years. It would be nice to see them as they were found not sitting in someones yard or workshop………Martin

Be aware that some of the Russian sites have been known to post pictures of any unfortunate crew that may have been found still with their aircraft.:(

According to some rumours, the remains of about 40(!) Hurricanes have been found on Russian territory (I seem though, this quantity is some exaggerated… But maybe not…).

It was Hurricane IIb, board #”12″, from 3rd sqn of 78th Fighter Regiment of Soviet AF. It was shooted down in air combat on October 30, 1942. The pilot, Lt Bershansky, has jumped out with a parachute.
2) Unknown Russian Hurricane:

3) Hurricane IIb Trop, Z5252, “white 01”, from 2nd Guard Fighter Regiment of Soviet AF. Has been found in 2004. The pilot – Lt Markov. The plane was force landed after air combat on June 2, 1942. The pilot has returned in his combat unit’s placement on horse.
