The RAAF is again seeking new-generation SOWs, this time with a range greater than 250kms, for its F-111 fleet (with possible integration on the F/A-18 fleet as well). Although the AGM-142E has been purchased and will soon be entering service (the most recent issue of ADBR still states the missiles as being “soon to be operational”, despite reports to the contrary. I’ll continue to chase up this issue and try to find out what the deal is with the Have Nap), new SOWs are still being sought, with the Storm Shadow/Scalp EG, SLAM-ER, Taurus and JASSM being prime contenders. Which is the best?
