A friend of mine has been given – lucky sod -a spade grip, it looks very similar to my Hurricane one but has AH 8005 (at least that is what we decided as there is a little corrosion on it) and the gun button is electric with bakelite or similar material pushbutton with brass surround rather than pneumatic.
It has the brake lever & fittings on the back.
I didn’t think to take a picture of it though. Can anyone put an a/c type to it ?
I had a look through past posts but couldn’t find the answer.
Cheers,
Jeff

We produce spot-on accurate bolts for the spade grips, all 3. The gun button bolt, brake lever bolt and parking brake bolt. We also do the gun buttons and brake levers, they are resin, but in terms of accuracy, you can’t get better. Hope that helps.

Go with the Spitfire parts.co.uk bits. Far more accurate, even though the button parts are resin.

Downland aviation used to do brake levers and other parts, Spitfire Spares do a special mounting bolt for the lever, but as with all their parts you will pay a premium!

AH 8090 Grip
Hi
The AH8090 grip is for the Tempest 2,5 & 6,Spitfire 22 & Meteor 1.It comes with the electric firing button as used in Typhoon/Tempest and Defiant aircraft(the small round button with the fire/safe ring). The grip number for the Firefly 1,2 & 3 is AH8272.These numbers come direct from the Air Ministry AP`s and i also own examples of both of the above mentioned grips.
