Code is CG 05740. Any ideas who made this? Firing button is marked LUCAS. It’s currently in New Zealand. And does anyone know what type of compass that is – calibration is 0-35. Thanks.

Thanks for the rear view.
I’m beginning to think that the gun button is a fake, added to fill the hole?

Thanks for all the answers so far. As requested, here’s a pic of the reverse. No sign of the AH number (the finger points to the location of CG05740)

The Battle control column tops that I have seen are certainly AH2040.

Not Battle Cees, I think if you cut that black tape off you will see channel for the air lines, probably a modification for the Lucas button, ask Tony(Rocketeer), we did that over here on CCF AH 2242s and 2040s to run lines for an electric button instead of the brass air lines, unless you see the AH number may never know what is from? agree AM, not seen that hole on a AH2242, but then again I have a modded 2040 with Bowden cable guide shaved off…..I still think its Harvard tho!

Or perhaps Battle?

Given that it appears to be sitting quite comfortably on its base, I would agree that the bowden cable guide appears to be absent (as is the brake lever, of course).
However, I’d like to see a rear view as it appears that the gun button is electric (Lucas and the absence of tubes being a clue in this respect)? Plus there is a hole in the centre of the grip similar to the one on the Defiant casting. I can’t recall seeing one of those on an AH2242 pattern casting.
Are these features of Harvards supplied to New Zealand?

Grip looks Harvard (i.e. no Bowden cable guide for brake lever cable)…and the later plasticcy type gun button….my guess for AH number would be AH2242

Dunlop will have made the spade grip.
Look for an AH number on the lower shank.

Well the ring is the internal scale of a Direction Indicator (also called a Gyro Compass) usually mounted centre bottom of the standard six on the Blind Flying Panel.
