Does anyone have drawings for the fire button from a Dunlop spade grip? Mine was converted to an electric button for use in a Harvard and I’d like to convert it back to an operational pneumatic button.
Thanks,
Ron

Great picture, Cornovii! Thank you. What document is this page from?

Sorry I can’t help with size or type but would it be possible for you to take the one in the photo out and measure it up?
I tried but the valve won’t budge. 🙁

Anymore thoughts on the make and model of the valve now that I’ve posted a picture?
Thanks,
Ron

The valve is a standard Schrader valve I believe.

Any chance of a picture?
Of the borrowed grip or the grip that I’m restoring?

Update
I’ve been able to borrow and complete Hurricane Grip from another project team…..
I’m happy to share the drawings when I’m finished with the understanding that they are not for an airworthy project……

Update
I’ve been able to borrow and complete Hurricane Grip from another project team. And using the fire button assembly from that grip I’ve able to determine the dimensions I require with one exception. That dimension is the threads for the air valve that screws in to the valve body with the inlet pipes. Or even better, does anyone know the model number of the original air valve or a replacement valve?

Thanks,
Ron

My hope was that the group producing the ‘replica’ firing-buttons had done so from original drawings and so the parts would be interchangeable with original parts (and they would have copies of the original drawings)…
…maybe they simply produced good ‘looky-likey’ firing-buttons?
I suppose the danger with faithful replicas is somebody passing them off as originals.

I actually have a replica button assembly but oddly is too large to fit the spade grip. And I’d really like to use as many of the original parts as possible.
Now that I’ve take the assembly apart it turns out that I require items 6, 9, and 10 to restore the assembly back to its original pneumatic system. I’m hoping someone has “spares” or drawings that I can use to make the replacement parts. Even photographs of these parts would be helpful.
Many thanks everyone for your feedback.
Cheers!

It is probably a simple press-fit?
Incidentally, forum member Tangmere1940, as long-time organiser of the Shoreham Aerojumble, will probably be able to put you in touch with the group producing replica spade-grips and firing-buttons…
…if his private-message in-box isn’t full (as it usually is)!

Does anyone know how to remove the firing button assembly from the spade grip?
By: Creaking Door - 22nd April 2015 at 10:49
There is a group that were at the Brenzett / Shoreham Aerojumbles that manufactures replica firing-buttons of this type. I don’t remember if they were pneumatic or electric but presumably they must have drawings to manufacture these.
Maybe somebody here can put you in touch with this group?

Its for my Hurricane grip so the round type button. Below is a picture showing the electrical wiring exiting the brass bass.
What I’m looking for are drawings to machine a new brass bass and attached brass tubing for the pneumatic system. So in the picture below, it’s the item on the left for which I need a drawing.

A round type button or later cannon rectangular type?
