Spade Grip Identification – Need Help Identifying

Hi All,

I purchased this Spade Grip in 1984 at the Farnborough Air Show along with an RAF helmet and goggles. Can anyone provide some insight as to the aircraft this Spade Grip was likely to be fitted? Unfortunately, I can’t make out all of the markings but the brake lever is marked AH016068.

Thanks, Todd

Very interesting. The gun button is early spitfire. The grip and brake lever is not. It is an original spade grip, only not from a Spitfire. I think the grip is early firefly.
Incidentally, I have the complete column from K9844 in my Mk1cockpit. As diggers will know, spit spade grips don’t survive crashes. I had all the column and the gun button and brake lever. The rest had long since corroded away. I found an early meteor grip and used that.
Your grip is still very nice.
