SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – A U.S. Air Force A-10 crashed at about 3 p.m. today near the French Polygone Range, south of Luneville, France. The aircraft was on a tactical leadership program-training mission. There were neither live nor depleted uranium munitions on board.
The plane was assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. It carried one person on board. The condition of the pilot is unknown at this time.
A board of officers will investigate the accident. Additional details will be provided as they become available
