Is it possible to provide the required info at check in or does it have to be before? My partner is flying to Alicante tomorrow on Easyjet but we have had problems with the website trying to go in and check the booking. Two phone calls to Easyjet were a waste of time (at £1 a minute).
Grateful for any advice

How do airlines who use manual check-in (I.E Ryanair) provide this information?
Or do they use computers now?

They just need the name and passport number of each passenger, I did mine online with Easyjet before I flew to Alicante last month, but there were indeed people doing the same at check in, I don’t think they had a problem with that… ?
Having just read Monty’s post I am reminded that they were looking for the date of birth too…
You may be correct there in terms of not every airport having the facility to electronically read passport information ? I left via GLA’s ‘T2’ which is a glorified porta-cabin attached to the main facility. No problems as I’ve said…

From the Easyjet website
“Under a Directive from the European Union, carriers are obliged to collect each customer’s ‘Advance Passenger Information’ (API) to pass on to the relevant national authority. This means that your airline must capture key pieces of information found in your travel document, such as date of birth and nationality, prior to travel.
The first country to adopt the Directive is Spain. Airlines must therefore collect API from all passengers travelling from non-Schengen countries in to Spain, including infants, children and Spanish nationals returning home. This affects easyJet customers travelling from the UK, Switzerland and Morocco in to Spain.
If you have already booked to travel to Spain but have not yet provided your API, simply log in to ‘My easyJet.com’, click on ‘Add Document Details’ for each relevant booking and enter the information as requested. If you plan to travel to Spain in the future, please enter the information at the time of booking using the link on the confirmation page.
This information must be provided for all passengers on each booking prior to travel.
Failure to do this means you will not be allowed to take your flight.”
Last line might be a bit OTT, however I dont think every easyJet station has the facilities to enable the passports to be swiped

Many Thanks Lukeylad, you have put our minds at rest. Someone had told my partner that the info had to be given at least 48 hours beforehand or you would not be allowed to travel.

Ok mate API data is taken when you check in at the airport its just a simple swipe of the passport by the PSA normally just before the check in process is completed.
