Been away on business in Strasbourg all week.
Going to Speyer after lunchtime as a visitor for the aeroboot setup this afternoon and the event tomorrow.
Anyone else likely to be there ?

P.S. I think the cannon ball is from a European 7 pound Howitzer. Likely early 19th Century.
Any Do217 experts had a look at the black panel yet ? Engine cowl from an M or N ?

Mike – you will be relieved to hear that I did not get any unknown French panels this time…
There are several French sellers but selling mainly RAF and Luftwaffe parts.
There was a nice F104 panel but price was too steep…
The Natter project displayed at Speyer aeroboot is progressing

Nothing French, this year, then!

lots of stick tops Tony – but as it is not my area – I have no idea which ones are good and which are not!
There were several 109 instrument panels- fitted out and blank. But the blanks were 600 Euros !
Friendly place – Just a long way away – 6 hrs to Calais and then 6 hrs to here…

Unknowns
Now for the annual unknown parts quiz.
Unknown part 1 – was recovered from an East German airfield.
Believed to be a Dornier 217 panel ???
The stamps on the reverse and Dzus catches are stamped as shown.
Black paint is original.
It is 82cm high and 1m 15 from edge to edge
Second part – no marks found apart from circled 18 inspectors stamp. – ca. 1.5m long – assumed to be stabiliser covering or flap. From Germany.
3rd Unknown – from Hungary – no marks apart from a 60 stamp. Russian or German ?

Photos etc.
Fouga – sorry I did not get your post until after I had left.
Howard a photo of the competition. This was early before all the stall holders had arrived. Behind me were a further 8 stalls and a further 6 outside.
After 12 hours driving – I got home late last night. This morning I have been looking at the parts…
The FW190 flaps have some nice markings on the rear. The Me under wing panel is also shown.
The Ju88 top engine cowl all have the correct stamps. One has the kuhlstoff writing still visible. The rear have some numbers painted in red – Werke numbers ?

Or can you get the guys e-mail?

Fouga – there were some of your name sake seats here.
Hmm, any EFA 602 5-point seatbelts for sale separately?

Guten abend …. I had it in my mind that it was a larger event than that!
We may even have a chance of getting close to that number of tables ourselves at our 29th April 2012 Indoor event – the day after the V-Force gathering, when we plan to ‘expand’ into the marquee that will be next to Hangar 2.
I hope that you’re able to make some more good purchases!!

Fouga – there were some of your name sake seats here. The museum is an “extra” indulgence i.e. you have to pay separately to get in..
Herr Plugmeister – guten abend – yes the event is consolidated into a single shed – and the number of sellers is ca.60 (six rows of at least 8 plus end rows) – but it is general militaria rather than purely aviation. The sellers are from UK, France, Holland, Germany, Czech, Hungary etc.

Can you get inside the museum? If so, would it be possible to get a few pics of the Potez-Heinkel CM.191?
By: TwinOtter23 - 14th October 2011 at 19:04
It sounds like you’ve acquired some good base material for some interesting new pieces!
How many sellers are at the event? I bet it makes NAM’s Indoor Aeroboot look rather small!

With only half the stalls set up this afternoon – there were still some interesting items available.
In my possession this evening:
A pair of FW 190 Landing flaps, Me 109 underwing panel , an unknown tailplane skin, a piece of an unknown nose section from Hungary as well as a hollow cannonball and some reference books.
I also have someone bringing some ju 88 engine cowl top skins.
Wondering what else is available tomorrow.
