Spit Cam-Shaft

As I have just came across the following I thought I’d ask the question… How much would a potential airworthy cam-shaft be from a Rolls-Royce Griffon as I have one stored. I think it’s possibly a spare for a Spitfire PR.19 as it’s ticket is BBMF!

Cheers,

Phil.

The ticket that is attached shows that the part still has around 300hrs left before a check/service is required however this ticket dates back to the late 80’s so would need to be fully recertified again if it was to be used in an airworthy aircraft. I thought it would be worth asking on here anyway…. Cheers guys!

If it is ex BBMF it is likely it’s no longer serviceable. I can’t imagine they’d let it go otherwise.

If nothing else, I’d bet it would make an excellent base ball bat substitute for keeping by the bed. :diablo:

It’ll look pretty fitted with a light bulb and a lamp shade on top. But I suspect that something cheaper and more attractive can be found in IKEA!

p.s. sorry – that refers to the eBay item in the link.

If its G58, then not much I’m afraid. They are pretty common.
