My folks came back from Duxford a while ago and my dad said there was a Spitfire Mk24 that was in one of the hangars which had just been transported over from Hong Kong by and American airline.
Can anybody shed any light on it’s owners/status etc and who is doing what work on it.?
Cheers.

I love the Spitfire 24 – wish there were more of them around!
Mind you, a guy in America was building a 70% replica. Check it out:

The Spit is Mk.24 VN485.She was brought back from Hong Kong a few years ago and has been on display at Duxford since she aoppeared in the static line up at the 1998 Spitfire show.
She was in the restoration hangar at the time of Legends this year with her engine out and various other bits missing. Not sure what’s happenning to her,but it look s like restoration work rather than dismantling for transport.

Sounds like they were getting confused with the IWM’s static silver 24 which has lived there a good few years now
