Spit ID please

Hi Guys!

I’ve just found this picture of a Spitfire on an old swap card game I had when I was a kid, so the card is 35+ years old, and was bought in Switzerland. But it started me thinking, was this plane lucky enough to still be around today, and what was it’s history?

So, I take it it was scrapped, after the engine problem, or is it resting at the bottom of the sea? 🙁

A well aired and still used photo from the MoD series.

Here it is on a greetings card received last year.

Nah,
It’s a photo of the 1/72 Heller kit… 😉

RW396 in Central Gunnery School livery.

Engine failed over West Skipsea Ranges 6 January 1949.

PS

The image was there but has now gone.

Believe me it was RW396. 🙂

I don’t know about anyone else, but the pic has not appeared above. I’ve just got one of those horrible tiny boxes with a little red cross in it.
