Hy guys, I´m new to this forum recommended by a friend of mine and would be glad to get some infos from you “specialists”:
Looking desperately for one or more good photos of a Spit Mk 22 or 24 and some infos of it´s pilot ( if possible), I´m a pro modeller and need some data for an accurate model for a museum.
thanx a lot

I just came across this rather interesting little page while looking for more Spitfire Mk24 stuff:

(at this very moment, I’m considering redrawing my replica as a Mk24 again!! )

Chris,
I have a reference to the stripes being black and white also.
The badge is a yellow bell ‘Strike True’ on a red base circle.

Ta for those, Mark 🙂
I remember now why this Spit was one of my faves – I saw an old r/c modelling magazine review of a Spitfire Mk24 model a few years back (still got it!) and this colour scheme was the one used. Thought it looked fantastic – pity the model is long out of production, though 🙁 However my semi-scale Spitfire 22 could be repainted…!
If I’m right, the colours should be Ocean Grey and Dark Green upper surfaces, undersurfaces Medium Sea Grey. The stripes are black and white.

Mark 12, great pics of the Spit of Tremlett! one more question: what are the colours of camouflage and the three stripes around fuselage and wings? and…..ähhh…..thats a nice spit in the little pic by your members name, could I have this one ( for personal use only) a litle bit bigger with perhaps some info? If yes contact me offline at CNASM@aol.com.
Merry Xmas to all,
cheers
Chris

Hi Mark 12, did you post a pic of Jock Mallochs (sp?) Mk22 on the forum recently? It was a terrific pic and I’m sure a re-post would be appreciated.

PK682/W2-N
Mark12
Must have been having a blonde moment when I wrote that about PK683.
Just had a quick look at the colour profile in Spitfire: The History, of PK682, W2-N, based at Kai Tak, and it was this one I meant!
I should have known that before because I built a model of the very same one in 1/32 scale a good few years back. Sadly, the model succumbed to what I term “mumsyitis” – death by a non-too careful female member of the family!!!
Daz
PS – have a merry Christmas!

Daz,
No record of PK683 with 80 Sqd. or Hong Kong for that matter.
It was in the Singapore Aux. Air Force
I will post further shots of W2-A shortly… Christmas calls.
Merry Christmas to all on the Forum.
