Spit tropical filter..

Hi guys,we are making good progress in the designing of our Spit at the moment.Using the factory plans as closely as we can we have started to work out the Tropical filter and cowl for our MkV.To finish it off we need some details like the butterfly valve at the front and the cowl loft lines.We are using Soildworks 07 now as it has the ability to unwrap simple spline lines (an uneven curve) from sheetmetal designs.Other stuff being done also is the fuel tanks,the tail which is 50% done but awaiting more info and the longerons.A good contact OS (cheers mate we know who you are) has done up a solid wing design off the plans using the incident table drawing and is good for .01 of a mm.Anyway here is a screenie of the filter assembly so far.Any info or pics,details will be most appreciated.

Thats an impressive piece of work.

BTW you might want to ask your web-designer to re-think the “The Project & how it all began” scroll window. Reading black fonts on a dark blue background is pretty hard on the eyes.

Ross;

I haven’t checked your website in a while, but I hope you’re updating it with new pictures. It’s a terrific site. I really liked the fuse-frame hammer forming shots.

And, most of us who will never get our hands on real Spitfire metal, have to live vicariously through you. This is an important role, Ross.

No pressure.

Cheers, Tom.
