A most amazing story and hope they can locate the next of kin , much like the Adrian Warburton story. Let’s pray for some closure for this family. Not the first time I have read of Feild Marshall Rommel talking to captured prisoners , much like he did with the captured British commando as told in the great BBC D-Day documentary 6-6-44 ! Thanks for posting this and what publication did you read this in…a link would be nice if you would be so kind !

Spoke to a friend working at Innsworth. Apparently the Historic Casework Team at the Joint Casualty & Compassionate Centre, AFPAA, are looking to trace any surviving relatives of Flt Lt Ibbotson
