Spitfire AR296

Anyone have any details about the fate of AR296. The prod list says it collided off Beacy Head while serving with 234 Squadron. Howeber, 234 ORB lists this as Spitfire EN903 (and I think EN903 is the correct one).
Its not the other Spitfire involved either.

So, question is, what happened to AR296?

I looked through operations between 6th of June until 20th 1944, and I can’t find AR296 anywhere. 234 Squadron. Only AR in the squadron is AR343.

On the 17th?

That is what is written on the movement card. That said sometimes the cards are late by a day or two.

Well, a bit more than that. A Flying Battle with Cat E damage and loss.

Date fits perfectly. So no collision, simply struck off charge.

How does ” 234 Sqn FB/E 17/06/1944 SOC” fit with your timing?
