Whilst being dragged around the saturday market at Wellesbourne, nr Stratford on Saturday with my good wife, amoungst all the usual drudge of a busy market of which within the first 10 stalls i’d seen enough ! and was rapidly loosing any interest in ‘shopping’.
Then, as if by magic, over the sound of voices, loud music and the usual butcher shouting, there was a fantastic sound of something big, powerful and fast taking off, i cought a glimpse through the stalls of what looked like a P40, kittyhawk, surely not ? i thought as the silloette dissapeared into the distance………………
then on our way out, i glanced at the flight line in the distance, and although it was a long way off,……………Is that a Spitfire i could see ?
so, was i going mad, what did i see at Wellesbourne on Saturday ?
And yes, i did see the Vulcan, on the ground !

I, too was at the Saturday Market a few weeks ago and he was visiting in his P-51.
There is (I think) a Spitfire FSM on the airfield as well.
