Hello,
Please can this be clarified for me?
With the blueprints / drawings for each mark, did Supermarine only issue sheets that contained updates or amendments or did they produce a full set?
So for example, the drawings that exist for the Mark IX, are these only parts that had changed from the previous model (Mk VIII) or parts that changed from the original specification e.g Mk I.
Hope this makes sense.

For a new part designed for the new Mark it would have the new Mark number. If the part remained unchanged it would have the older part number. You need to look at the evolution table of the spitfire to see what components were used..MkI to MkII,MkII to MkV then to MkIX etc..MkIV evolved into MkVI,MkVII and MkVIII.

Thanks Qld,
So just so I can get this in my mind, would the drawings and updates be against the preceding Mark or the Mark I each time please?
Thanks

Would only be the updated drawings for that Mark unless an earlier drawing was found to have errors or corrected on the assembly line.
