Spitfire brackets for what

Hi there
I have 2 brackets which came as part of a job lot which I purchased for my MK1X replica. Unfortunately they are not MK1X items that I know of. Any one got a clue what they are.
The larger green one has 35118/1 stamped on it. Presumably from a MKVII. I thought it was a cable cover at first possibly for the morse key unit but is got alot of rivet holes down the sides. 12 down one side and 10 down the other.
The second item is a bracket stamped 35959/814. I presume from a MK111.Possibly a mounting for the gun camera counter.
Any help would be gratfully appreciated in order to see if they could be used on my project. Alternatively they would be available for ‘swaps’ to members only.
Sorry about the quality of the photo’s. My fault completely!!

Many thanks

Hi Bruce
Thanks for that. Has anyone got a picture or a plan to show this location as I can’t picture it in my head.

Its a mounting for an air gallery that feeds pressure to the brake valve; goes on the floor between frames 8 and 9.

See, the old memory still works; it just takes a few days to spool up!

Griffon aeroplanes I think, but poss Mk 8 as well.

Part numbers ending ’59 would appear to be ‘brake gear’

Found it. But what about the other.

Finally cracked it. Page 43 of the ‘Spitfires and Polished Metals’ by Graham Moss and Barry McKee shows this item as the end bracket on the horizontal stabiliser.
Any more ideas on the other bracket. Possibly a floor attachment.

Spitfire haynes manual

I think your probably right Bruce. I refer to Page 59 of the Haynes owners workshop manual. There is a diagram of a tail plane and some items carry the numbers 351189 etc. Its the nearest thing I can think of.
Dont suppose anyones got a drawing which may confirm this.

Remember, the first three numbers reflects the first Mk the item was used on, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t used on a Mk9.

First one looks like a tail plane end rib. The other is familiar, but I can’t place it off hand. Pretty sure it’s on the cockpit floor.
