In the cockpit of a MkV SPITFIRE there is a lever on the left side of the seat. It is near the fwd LH corner of the seat. Is this the radiator flap control lever. I know a MkIX has pneumatic rad flaps but is the MkV done manualy?

…and since we are now blessed with a flying Spit in our country, why not contact the Biltema crew and take a look at the real stuff. They are very friendly people.

the drawing for the pilots seat construction is; MAC 1927, available from Hendon (by post) for about £2-, or less if you go there yourself.
I think Buce has a point r.e the drawings, there is no direct translation between wood and metal, the Jurca drawings being a good illustration of that,(I believe the wings have only half the original no of ribs).

If I were you, I would dump the du Cros drawings, and acquire some original Supermarine ones. That is not to denigrate the ones you have, but they were drawn up with a specific purpose in mind – to build a Spitfire from wood. You will end up with a metal replica of a wooden replica of a metal aircraft!
