Hi everyone
Has anyone got the paint code for the grey/green that is used in Spitfire cockpits.
I’m also stuck on obtaining a decent set of plans for frames 11,12 and 13 for a MK1X.
Unfortunately Morton Press are not producing anymore plans for the M1X.
Many thanks

Tony,
Would you go for green or silver on Mk I Pilots seat?
Thanks.

Depends on the Mk of Hurricane. Mk1 were silver frame and controls, cockpit green on woodwork. Mk2 was all cockpit green. Mine uses the LAS cockpit green (which matched the original green on the doghouse beautifully). I have silver tubes (it is actually Halfords wheel silver which matched paint samples well)

Thr reference no was 309, but I’ve never seen a colour sample; it wasn’t the BS381C:283 Aircraft Grey Green so beloved of model paint makers.
The RAF Museum has vast numbers of Supermarine drawings, on microfilm, and, if they don’t have the actual drawings for the IX, they’ll have the same frame numbers for other Marks, which will give you a start. Go to the library, ask for the MAC list, and prepare to take all day; there are thousands to plough through.
