Spitfire Control Part ID

Hi All,

Am searching in vein for the ID to this part below and someone suggested I try the spitfire experts in this forum. It is spitfire and is related to the control components given the number “33” following the 300. Ive tried to focus on working out what the part is used for but have come up with nothing. From what I can tell it has no moving parts or holes to allow fluid to pass through. Measures about 6 inches in length. If anyone has got any ideas as to the function of this item please post it here.

The position of the aileron bell-crank assembly in the wing as indicated by the arrow…. Looks to be from an early Mk Spit, the lever riveted to the bell-crank arm..later ones were bolted.

Yes, the later ones were also fixed further to one end of the spindle.

Wow, that was quick. I should have come to this forum ages ago. Thanks so much for the ID and the picture… all I need to do is find a picture of it on the aircraft. Would it be in the blueprints?

Thanks all… Have some other spit components to ID and will post later.

What you have there is part of the aileron bell crank assembly as fitted in the wing at Rib 14. Yes, a Spitfire part.
