Anyone got a decent photo or drawing of the first/early two prong pitot fitted to Spitfire that they could show me? My search engine brings forth nothing.
Thanks in advance.

We have the remains of one with good side plates and both tubes, though cut off inside the plates. It would probably work for you. If I can find a good VII, they’re yours.
Definitely! I’ll drop you a PM so we can figure out how to get it over to the museum.

Here’s few photos from Cosford’s Spit, not brilliant I’m afraid but hopefully gives an idea?
Cheers

Ditto – we need a MkVIIA for our Horsa cockpit though it doesn’t need to be operable.
That said, thanks to the dimensions on that Smiths drawing we can probably manufacture a pretty good facsimile. 🙂

I am looking for a MkVIIA for an Auster IV and have a NOS Mk IV to exchange if necessary.

Like these perhaps:-

Looking at that drawing i’d hazard a guess that the actual pitot is 6A/432 “Pitot pressure head anti-ice Mk. VIIA”?

Yes, that helps a lot. I could not work out if the prongs were arranged one above the other or side by side.
