Now I understand that frame 8 effectively sits beneath the instrument panel and that a hoop frame would appear to be the attachment and two fore and aft running frames seem to support it at the outboard lower corners. Does anyone have a definitive drawing or a source to obtain one in this area of the cockpit.

Lower forward longerons??They look like this.
Drawing number 30027-99,100G is the one your after.If you get one from Spitfire Restorations or Hendon you need the number MAC661.:D
