Spitfire Glider tugs

Does anyone out there have any photos of Spitfires towing Hotspur gliders? Farnborough tested the Mk1 and the AFEE tested the Mk V and Mk 9 whilst 401 Sqn RCAF got to play with them in early 44 (with the idea of using them on D Day).

One of the veterans visiting the assault glider trust at Shawbury described to me his training on Hotspurs. Yes they were towed by Spits. Eric Brown also describes, in Wings on my Sleeve, his towed flights in the Me163 – behind a Spitfire.

I have run across Spitfires used as target tugs….no joy on the Hotspur towing yet. I’ll keep looking

Having finally figured out this posting lark can i kickstart this thread back into life by showing you the one photo I have in evidence that Spitfires towed gliders. This shows the towing attachment rather neatly combined with the tailwheel assembly
