I’m delving further into the unique Spit, L1007 which was fitted with Hispano cannons and tested in July 1939.
I have only seen two photographs of the aircraft, both of which aren’t particularly helpful with the overall scheme the aircraft would have utilised at the time. Aside from the two (which can be seen in “Spitfire – The History”), is anyone else aware of other photographs of the aircraft which show that?

Yeah, it could have been that one. Doesn’t really say anything at all!

This is the only other photograph I can find of L1007, and as you can see, doesn’t really yield that much more information

I thought I had seen another photo somewhere – either in a book or online – but honestly not sure about that.

Much obliged, DazDaMan. I’ve heard variations of that some time ago, but as mentioned earlier, would be nice if anyone is aware of a telltale photograph.

From what I can gather, looks to be the B-type scheme on the upper surfaces, going by the camouflage line in that photo, with black and white undersides of the wings (the lower cowling looks like it’s natural aluminium).
Roundels would, I imagine, be the small B-type of blue and red, but impossible to say from that shot.
