I build English airplane model Spitfire MK.IXE for Slovak Technical Air Museum in Kosice in Slovakia. History about this plane is endig, when it was tranporting to Haifa, Israel December 22. 1948 from czechoslovakia. Israel sold Burma 30 Spitfires in 1954. Can everybody send me some information about SPITFIRE MK IX.E with number TE-518 after 1948?
I hope thet yes. This information will used only for Slovak Technical Air Museum in Kosice, Slovakia. Thank you for your time for me.

Re. Spitfire TE518
According to my info:
TE518 delivered by sea (not flown!) to Haifa around March 1949.
TOC summer 1949 as serial number 2027 with 101 Sqn.
2027 was written off 16-12-1953 when with 107 Sqn.
From ¨AirDOC ADP 02 – Israeli Air Force 107 Squadron¨ by Shlomo Aloni (ISBN 3-935687-60-5):
Sqn. 107 – OTU class 14 from 1-11-53 to 1-1-54:
Undergraduate Yitzak Yalon was killed on December 16 in Spitfire (20)27 during an OTU training sortie when he collided with the instuctor Ran Sharon in Spitfire (20)58.
Hope this helps.
