Still for sale, wonder if anyone looking to buy?
I presume that’s why it never flew at the airshow last year, and spent the weekend in the static park ?

In order to set the record straight. The reason for the departure of MJ627 from East Kirkby was the level of insurance cover needed in order to keep the aircraft in the hangar. With the insurance, ground equipment and fire cover and a couple of other contributing factors the cost became prohibitive. ………………………..etc.
Nice to chat with you again at EK on Easter Monday Andrew – I was rather reluctant at the time to mention the latest ‘speculative’, and not very complementary, remarks that had appeared on this Forum in respect of MJ627’s departure from East Kirkby.
Thank you for taking the time to set the records straight once and for all – this has been the subject of other similar threads on here and frankly I’ve become sick of such comments from rather uninformed contributors.
Thanks to all “The Team” for a very enjoyable Easter weekend at EK – especially Monday’s “Emergency Services Day” event.
Chat again soon.

In order to set the record straight. The reason for the departure of MJ627 from East Kirkby was the level of insurance cover needed in order to keep the aircraft in the hangar. With the insurance, ground equipment and fire cover and a couple of other contributing factors the cost became prohibitive. This was all explained to Maurice Bayliss the owner of MJ627 and rather than sharing the expense it was decided to move the aircraft. It was an amicable agreement between both parties and MJ627 was booked to appear at East Kirkby last season. It only failed to show due to poor weather and unservicability.
MJ627 is currently hangared at Waddington awaiting a new wingtip after a taxying accident.

I heard politics at EK….some young thruster decided it could earn more revenue, some old thrusters lost a Spitfire. The Major is still in the seat, we are all still in awe.

Don’t know about where she is appearing this year but I suppose the Major will be chief pilot again. She is now based as part of the Waddington flying club at Waddo.
