Given that P9374 has already been ‘revealed’ to public gaze through another thread on this forum I felt that this image would be of interest.
Maybe DCW would like to add some of his other images of P9374 as she is now? See others here:

Please don’t ask me to discuss issues (at this stage) relative to either the restoration, the owners the operators or the book. That, as they say, will all be in the book! Here:

The only other photo I will add later (to placate CeBro!) will be a shot of yours truly in the cockpit of P9374 just over thirty years ago.
As time goes by, and after the roll out, first flight, first airshow appearances and release of the book I’m sure that much more can be added. For now, I’m afraid its a bit limited.

P9374 flew down from Duxford to Shoreham yesterday, and is in the air display there this weekend for a full display. John Romain flying.

Hi Jayce, I’ve not been involved with the project but I have read JRs article on flying this aircraft in Aeroplane Monthly. From what I read, ‘obvious checks’ includes putting her through her paces.

Andy, Steve,
How much air testing is being done do you know? Aside from the obvious checks, has she been put through her paces at all?

For those who may be interested, P9374 will be on display (flying and static) at the following Duxford event:

A goodly line up of other Spitfires, too.

Snoopy – Without taking anything away from any of the others involved in the P9374 project, I certainly feel that the story of the airscrew manufacture is surely the most interesting and most significant element of the whole story.

Smashing.
Saw this MkI on Sunday, – a real treat. Even more so to see it in formation with other early models. They were also noticably quieter. The story behind the airscrew will be fascinating in it’s own right I’m sure. 🙂
I’ve only just taken the time to read this thread. I saw it growing, and guessed that some of the growth came from negative verbiage. Blimey, what can one say…. except well done to all the team behind this a/c.

Thanks. I miss it, as it was built to give away! May just have to build another…

If found it good that they flew them together for a tribute to Howard Pardue. I’m sure he would have enjoyed that. Im sure it brought a lump in the throat and tear in the eye for many people.

Well you did a sterling job Andy, it was good to meet you briefly, and thank you for dedicating my copy of the book, which looks to be an excellent read.
After having spent ages modelling the aircraft, it was a real thrill to see P9374 in the flesh yesterday, and witness an moving, if brief moment with all three Spitfire Is aloft together.

As ever, lovely to see it fly although I didn’t see too much of it yesterday as I was pretty much stuck in the tent.

After reading the book, it was nice to go to Duxford yesterday to view the finished result. Here are a couple of snaps from my point’n’shoot…….:o

Just a heads-up that P9374 is scheduled to appear at Legends.
Copies of the book will also be available in The Aviation Bookshop marquee. Incredibly, likely to go into reprint very soon I’m told!

I enjoyed reading my copy of the book very much, I showed it to my dad who was also very interested particularly the section about the Dehaviland prop reverse engineering and rebuild, I think it shows when it comes to engineering we are still world class.
