Hello
Having read this new Magazine special, it states a MKXII spitfire survivor ex- G-FXII in the newport pagnell area?
Is this a complete airframe or large assemblys, as I have not heard of it before!
I am sure somebody on here will know all about it………….. š

I agree, an opportunity missed. The last time around (is it really that long ago) Key did an excellent job with some top information and excellent photographs and features within their Special Edition. This one seems to have been put together by some different people and is rather tedious and has some glaring inaccuracies. Lets hope their special monthly faetures are a bit more on the ball. Can’t wait for the book! š
I enjoyed that ‘Spitfires On The Wing’ supplement issued a few years ago.
I believe Mark12 compiled it, and it sounds like they should have hired him again to do surviving the Spit census a few issues ago, and by the sounds of it, this special! š”
Cheers
Paul

Its such a shame that the compilers of “Spitfire 70” made so many mistakes with their Survivors List.
Never mind … Graham Trant and I will have the new edition of “Spitfire Survivors” out in a few months time.
looking forward to that, please give my regards to Graham

Basically started with the firewall and data plate of EN224 found at a technical school. Lots of Seafire XV mixed in, wings from EN199 etc etc.
Still as close as we’re gonna get to an XII though. Can’t wait š

Iām sure Mark 12 would be able to help you as he lives in the vicinity; unfortunately he is away on an extended vacation taking third world relief aid to the Antipodes.

Hi jont122,
Do a search on this forum for EN224 and you should get some more data
The ex.owner of said machine frequents this board but he is currently “downunder” so will not be able to respond
Hope this helps,
