Almost two months after its arrival on March 1, the Spitfire in Lisserbroek (Holland), is now in full glory. Photographed this afternoon. BW Roger
That is, if the photo was shown, which it isn’t:mad:

Well, doesn´t the canvas on the floor behind the Spit seem undisturbed by the prop wash?
Is it made of lead?
Christer

Nice pics Rog. 🙂 As for how the prop is spinning, I would have to guess at it being done by electrical power.
At RNAS yeovilton, on one of the aircraft there, they have the prop spinning, which is done by electric.
Cheers.

Maybe the prop is made from fuzzy felt?!!! 😀

pictures can lie
Ok then so waht are they doing to make the prop turn? Electrical ,wind?? All they need now is a pilot and an erk manniken and the diorama of a scramble is all set

Well Steve, the prop was not spinning on electrical power, and as for the barriers, there are those blue boxes in the foreground that are more or less a natural barrier against people coming neaer than 50 cm from the prop:D BW Roger

Roger, I’m intrigued. How are they getting away with that? Presumably the prop’s spinning via electrical power rather than an engine being run, but surely there’s got to be some kind of safeguard to stop people from wandering into it. I just don’t see any barriers up…

No, it is no trick, the prop is moving. The museum staff were very helpfull by offering me this “indoor action shot”. The photoshoot was only a test, in a few weeks time it will be done again, with artificial smoke and some lights effects. I have included a shot from a different angle. BW Roger
