Hi Guys
Sorting out a friends house move in Banstead, Epsom. Unearthed a tail wheel that looks like it was used as a wheelbarrow wheel.
I think it might be Hurricane but need expert advice.
Hope you guys can help.
Tire size: 4.95 X 3 1/2 AERO
Serial No. F 223620/
DRG. No. AHO 5008
ISSUE 11

Thanks for all your help.

AHO5008 is Anson up to Mk 12.
I have an AHO5008 that has been restamped and reused under a glider. It still gets air under its wings on a regular basis.

Air Ministry
Avro Anson.
What numbers would make it Hurricane? An almost identical wheel was recently donated to Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum as ‘Spitfire’ but might be Hurricane. The only physical difference (in the hub) I can see between the it and the one posted is the small groove between two of the bolts on the second and last photos of the ‘posted’ example, which are not on the museum example.
Numbers on the museum one are hard to see through the layers of paint, but some are:
On hub:
DRG No ?H05000 /
SERIAL No. K/101538
On tyre:
4.00 – 3 1/2 Electrically conducting
Would welcome your thoughts please
