Whilst sailing yesterday afternoon we were lucky enough to have a couple of overflights by a Spitfire (with elliptical wingtips) over the eastern Solent, about 15:30-16:00. Bit far from Bournemouth, unless it was returning to Goodwood?
Any ideas?

Boultbee Spitfire SM520 has been flying in the area these last few days…Al Pinner was the pilot yesterday.

had one climb out of shoreham whilst I was on the beach there yesterday. No idea if it took off or flew thru. – must of been about the same sort of time frame
Had a C-47 over today with the wheels down. Must be the RAFA airshow this weekend as well.

Rolls Royce are down there, Went yesterday until Sunday night (for Bournemouth Show), might be them?
