Hello,
Am trying to find out the codes the Spitfire would have worn when it served at No.57 OTU at Eshott. It was there from 31 March 1943. On the 22 April 1944 when it was lining up for take off another Spitfire (does anyone know which one?) taxxied into it and it went to AST at Hamble for repairs.
Thank you.

Thanks to you all for your valued and quick assistance. Think I now have enough to go on. Also looking at Spitfire 1B R6762 coded PW_E which collided with a P-47 in the circuit at Eshott 12/04/1944.

These are the only ones I have any lead on, all Hawarden I think:
Spitfire 1a AR212 LV-N
Spitfire IIa P7296 JZ-22
Spitfire Vb BL426 LV-N
Spitfire Vb AR424 PW-R
Spitfire Vc EF541 LV-R
Spitfire Vc EE627 XO-H

Thanks for that. Never seen a Spitfire with letters and numbers before. Am looking at other 57OTU examples as well. Note that AR213 was ZJ_E and AR212 LV_N when at Hawarden.
