Spitfire P7360 17/10/1940

Can anyone provide a little more information.

Spitfire IIa P7360
74 Sqn
Biggin Hill
17/10/1940 – F/O A.L. Ricalton killed, shot down in combat with Bf109s over Maidstone, crashed near Hollingbourne, 15.40 hrs.

was this a/c rebuilt? as there are photo’s of it flying at Fairford in 2010.

I am friends with F/O Ricaton’s nephew and he is seeking details of the loss/location and/or was the a/c restored.

kind regards

Chris

The best I can manage is near the sports pavilion off Greenway Court Road.

But what ‘near’ means in this context is pretty vague.

Thanks for clearing that up,
Just when doing a simple ‘Google’ for P7360 the pictures are labelled as P7360 and the a/c in the pictures has the serial P7350.

Is there any further infomation regarding the exact site?

Chris

Alan Ricalton was certainly lost in P7360 but the aircraft has not been ‘rebuilt’.

I fear you are getting confused with P7350 which is preserved and flying.
