Hi,
I am in the process of having some instruction labels made up to complete my Mk VIII Spitfire panel. Does anyone know what the text is on the plaque on the left hand side of the gun site (on the Mk VIII) as highlighted in my scan? Better still if anyone has a drawing that would be fantastic.
One last question, Spitfire Boost Plaque, I have a drawing which states these were engraved text, were any printed? the only reason I ask is a lot of the British cockpit placards I have seen are acid etched ie not engraved.

Lovely job, that has answered that one! think I will go with engraved as it seems to be the safest bet. I am doing the artwork myself (since it is pretty much what I do for living) so fingers crossed it should be 99% accurate.
Just the gun site one to sort now, although the small amount of text I can see on the pilots notes seems to talk about “Jettison Tank”.
Maybe Mark 12 can help on this one?

Hello Dan, No idea about the gun sight label but the supercharger control panel was engraved on MkIX PT766. There seem to be a variety of engraved and etched labels, with some shocking reproductions being sold as original.
