His Son, Scott Blyth (Blythsco) had two pieces on the forum back in January 2010 – and a link to the film about Spitfire 944

Great little documentary.
Doing research into footage is quite satisfying – when I watched the gun camera film from the strafing of the 392nd BG B-24 “Jolly Duck” by 453 Squadron Spitfires, I didn’t expect my findings to uncover the story of John McCormick and the footage ending up actually being of use.

Superb. Really enjoyed it, loved he still had a bit of its prop.

This has to be the most amazing video documentary I have seen in years. The research and work that has gone into this video is truly outstanding. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting the link. The pilot’s reaction when the realisation dawned that he was watching his own belly landing of almost 70 years ago was truly moving.
