Hi to everyone
Can any one help me I have been given a Conrod and piston from a merlin engine that was in a spitfire it was purchased by a friend ten year or more ago from bruntingthorpe.
He was having a clear out so it came my way I would like to find out if possible what engine and spitfire it came from there are a few numbers that have been engraved on so any clues to where I should be looking would be great thanks for now

Sadly you will not find which particular Spitfire it came from, unless who ever recovered it wrote on it the a/c number.
There are a number of numbers stamped and engraved on a Merlin piston and con rod, but relate to the spacific item.
Post a photo of it, that might help identify if it is from an early Merlin at least.
