Spitfire prices.. the future.

Indeed Spitfires everywhere, as another member just commented on another thread. But as a complete outsider of all things to do with them i can’t help wondering if the steady and constant increase in airworthy examples (albeit of different variants) will affect the relative values / desirability of the type in the future. The amounts of money now being spent on Spitfire restorations is to me quite staggering, in the latest case seemingly running into millions of £’s. And although the subsequent value of the finished aircraft is not necessarily the reason for doing it, surely it is part of the equation!

Prices do seem to be still on the up, maybe due to the increase in the level of authenticity that is now possible (as seen on the ex Calais beach Mk1), but do other maybe more enlightened members think that we will reach what could be termed ‘market saturation point’, with maybe the dare i say less desirable variants falling below the £1m price tag?
