There seems to be a new hangar being built at Biggin, I wondered whether this could be the new museum? I read that Peter Monks TA 805 would be incorporated into the new museum in a viewing area. My question really is which hangars are currently housing these elusive Biggin Hill Spitfires as I’ve previously seen TA805 photographed in front of the Rizon hangar (nearest the main road). Can anyone shed any light?

TA805 has been based in several hangars at Biggin including Rizon Jet. She is now in another hangar with a few other Spits on the south side of the airfield.

Don’t let the RAF know about all these Spitfires they may just re-enlist them back into service to fill the big gap left by the Harriers. LOL:D

I think that it is just wonderful that there are so many Spitfires scattered all over the place.IMO there cannot be enough Spitfires, with the new Mk1’s and others in restoration the future looks healthy for RJM’s beauty. The more Spitfires there are mean that there will be more support available such as consumable spares and new build parts. I see no reason, regulations apart, why some should not still be in the air in the next century.

I thought that AR213 still resided at Duxford in H2 north. As far as i know it hasn’t been moved out of it since Legends 2011 but i may be wrong.
Also Duxford should be getting some new Spitfires in the next few years when we get a few more Mk.1’s airworthy again…fingers crossed!
