Hi QldSpitty, The riveting pattern on a MKV is pretty much the same as a MKI. The horizontal intercostals from Fr11 to Fr19 are dimpled for csk rivets. Down the frames they are mush head rivets- SP86- and also along the spine. THe horizontal & vertical skin overlaps are mush head also. The fwd skins from Fr5 to FR11 are all csk rivets except for below the fillet fairing line where they are snap head rivs. The rivets through Fr11 & skin are mush head above fillet fairing line and snap head below. The lower skins where they rivet to the lower aft longerons are 1/8″ dia mush heads aft of the fillet fairing blister and fwd of blister are 1/8″ snap heads. The rivets in the belly skin are cut csk in the bottom between the fillet fairings and any rivets under the fillets are all snap heads. Hope this gets you started Ross.

for the main rule that gets you somewhere near correct is that the main skin joints/overlaps are snaps and all the ones attached to the intercostals are c/sk. dont forget the skins overlap front to back and top to bottom except the bottom skin overlaps the ones above.

Hope that helps if you need more info we do have some drawings but no doubt you probably have them yourself.

Hi Mate,
Good to hear that your back on the project at last.
Both Airframe Assemblies Ltd and Historic Flying here in the UK may be best people to answer your question.

Regards

Jason
