That burst of Czech earlier on in the thread…I can’t help being reminded of the RAF flight leader in “Battle Of Britain” exasperatedly yelling into the R/T, “Silence in Polish!”:)
Lovely Spitfire.

Try a Google translation on post 4. 😉

I think the “point” is that it should really have the Mk.XII rudder on it, but the owner presumably likes the “classic” Spitfire rudder.

So why does it have the pointy tail in the IDF pics?

Is it my eyes or is there something odd about the perspective? The depth of the rear fuse and the width of the fin don’t seem right.
Shouldn’t the tail be more triangular, and NAAish?
You are a very naughty boy. :p

Probably a telephoto lens; they tend to squash the perspective.

What are the odds of 2 312 sqdn spits ending up at the same airport in the U.S. 60+ years later?

SL633-IAF 2042
Mazal-Tove.
She looks beautiful.
Here are two photos during her service with the IAF.
At Ramat David as PR during 1953, note the 105 Sqd logo.

Great to see her wrapped up in a sky scape.

I agree. Maybe the angle? The lack of the classic RAF markings back there which fools us?

The first photo is an interesting angle as it shows the washout of the Spitfire’s wing to quite good effect – the way that the starboard wing and port wings appear to be pointing in different directions!
Lovely looking restoration though.
