Easy peasy to dismantle these:
Step one clean gunge from nuts,
Step two undo carefully with correct size socket, leaving one or two turns on each nut tap lightly working around clockwise (do this after undoing all four nuts)
You may need to use a blunt flat screwdriver to break the bead….this is a split rim wheel, so it will come in half. Then remove nuts and the two parts will come apart. If you have any probs, I’ll help….dismantled about20 of these puppies

Took a few more this afternoon after a bit of spit and polish.
Sorry my mistake Gamecock was not a RAF station .Any other info regarding the wheels or a diagram of whats inside and how to dismantle etc would be of help . Many thanks again
Rich.

Surely thats HMS Gamecock? Being an ex-FAA station and all.
Maybe they are Seafire?

Thanks gents the numbers are AA2184/2.
Not sure where he got them from or what for or how long he had them for i cannot ask him has he’s past on god bless him. They may have come from. EX RAF Gamecock .Know known as Bramcote barracks outside Nuneaton Warwickshire. He lived just down the road and my dad told me they use to get stuff from the Aircraft dump they had there after the war.
Know what should i do with them clean them up and repaint them one as bits of duck egg green and yellow paint still on .
Cheers for your help

…and I think he was right.

Check the Dunlop number on the casting. It should read AH.2184/(plus Roman digits)

Spit Wheels

Not sure if these will help but the fixed wheel is from a Spitfire Mk IIa, the retractable from a Spitfire PR XIX and for comparison a Hurricane IIc. All BBMF aircraft.
