Mark12, that’s good that you still see your friend from 60 years ago. Now that you have pointed it out and I have zoomed in on the photo, I can see it’s a fin and rudder. Thanks for the reply.

And with another one to follow, a Mk I, at the moment still hanging on the wall of the Bigging Hill hangar?
Fantastic that this is possible outside the UK or USA.
Cheers

What? correct that it had something to do with Geoff Nutkins, and the Shoreham Museum, or correct i got it all completely wrong!

Correct.

Didn’t this aircraft once have something to do with Geoff Nutkins, and the wonderful Shoreham Aircraft Museum? I seem to recall the fuselage was stored on a farm at underriver, near Sevenoaks, way back in the early to mid 80s. Or have I got it all completely wrong, which is usually the case!!

Is that you or your mate in the cockpit Mark12 ?, also is that another Spitfire wing stood up against the fence behind the port wing of TB885?
Yes, my school friend Trevor Tew and indeed we had dinner together in London only last month.
Behind TB885 is the fuselage of MK 22 PK665. You are looking at the fin and aluminium rudder.

So it was a high back clipped wing XVI to start with?

TB885, October 1958, coming up 60 years, I and my pal Trevor got the word there was a crashed Spitfire at Kenley. Hasten to the bike shed.
