spitfire throttle quadrant

seeking advice as usual….I have a crashed throttle quadrant mk2a…now firstly would it be best to renovate? or leave as is ? I realize Im just a guardian for these things if renovate is the answer who could do it thanks in advance

Yes I have the Id of the plane.. Also I’m in contact with the family of the pilot who died in the crash. He was a volunteer from Belgium

I agree, especially if you have its id , just a light clean and a coat of clear lacquer.

Personal choice I guess, but for me I would spend a little more time cleaning it, then leave it as is. Once you “restore” something it’s originality and history is gone.

But of course I am in the minority on here, as I’m sure many others would rather see it restored.
