Tr 9.Pilots Notes.
A set of pilots notes existed at the time of the Battle of Britain film. These were not to the standard MoD format and did not have an AP number but were titled Supliment to AP 1565 P.N.
I know a copy went with the Samualson T9’s to Strathallen and that both Nick Grace and Dick Melton had access to this document so it may be that a copy survives with Melton archives now housed with the Hall of Aviation at Southampton.
In addition to satisfy the requirements of the CAA Melton produced a Technical manual for PT462 incorperating his own supliment to AP1565 P.N. the original will also be at Southhampton, additionally a copy of this document should still be held by the aircrafts current owner.
Hope this helps!

Spitfire Tr Pilots Notes
I Wish!!!!!!!!! The reason is, I am the Archivist of my old ATC Squadron where we used to have a Spitfire XVI as a gate guard. This was TE184
(G-MXVI) that stood outside from 1952 to 1967, as I have the Pilots Notes for the Mk XVI – I was interested to see how the Tr. version compared!

Spitfire Tr. Pilots Notes
Thank you both for your replies, Ewan would be most grateful for any suggestion as to how to obtain IAC notes or would pay any charges for a copy of yours.

Good question! I am the ‘specialist’ for flight manuals and pilots notes for Air-Britain (tries to look important, fails miserably – again!). I have never seen one for a 2 seat Spitfire, but assume (is this wise?) that PNs were originally produced for them when new by the manufacturer. OTOH it could be that they were so similar in handling to the single seat ones that it was felt no notes were required. Did the Irish Air Corps produce their own notes for them? Perhaps somebody from the Emerald Isle can tell us.
