Good to see the old girl back in the air finally, and now based at East Kirkby in Lincs. Really wish Flypast had done the Spit as a centre-spread, though!
You lot are lucky sods down there – a taxiing Lanc AND a flyable Spitfire! 😉

I haven’t and there’in is a saga !!
For the Lanc…..some Eve Trackway was needed to get to the Eastern runway section…….but no doubt it was a tad easier with the Spit.

The article in Flypast stated that she had to be towed across to the usable runway.
No idea what that means, but someone from EK will know!

I heard the Spitfire displaying the other Saturday at East Kirkby and saw it fleetingly prior to its display…….I live out to the East of EK.
It sounded to be winding up real well…..
Of course being so near I should attend more I know….. but its not always that easy……work to be done…..
I’m curious to know which runway the Spitfire uses……Can it find its way to the Eastern runway section……..or does it use the “Square”……..??
