Will be after cockpitfest – tend to try to unveil something there each year. The Mk1 is sheer fun at the moment – though a money pit!
I will be getting your gauges cast thisweek old chap…thanx Cees. Been working on the oxy reg, oil temp and alt today for the Spit

Well, it is ready for fitting!!
I was going to make a new mount, but thought I would try and salvage as much of the original as possible. The first photo shows the salvaged mount (after some biffing!) and the bracket: The former was in a ‘ball’! All the spacers and the stainless bolts were salvaged.
The second shows the unit. Janspeed bent the tube for me in the last standing spitfire shadow factory in Salisbury.
The unit is made from parts from 3 different Mk1 Spit aircraft shot down in the Battle of Britain.
The body is painted cockpit green (as it had traces of that paint).
Many thanx to those who supplied drawings and photos! You can see the results that you helped…cheers!
The whole cockpit is getting ‘there’….the windscreen ‘fairing’ that holds it to the coamings is gonna be a pain!!
She will be at CockpitFest in June

If you haven’t access to a spring for it try putting some sand in it to stop it buckling.
