Picked up a nice copy of the 1967 movie ” Night of The Generals” with Peter O’Toole and a fine cast . I noted the nice scene of a Spitfire attacking the staff car with Rommel ( C Plummer as the FM) …….. looked like a cannon firing Spitfire..hard to tell since the scene was so quick. Bet someone here knows the very Spit used in the film? If I remember correctly..it was two RCAF Spits that attacked the Field Marshall’s car . Seems like After The Battle did a report on this ! Also nice attacking scene in the one of my favorite WW II films …. ” The Train”..with Burt Lancaster !
Thanks!

A release date of 1967 would suggest filming in 1966 or possibly 1965.
The Belgian COGEA Spitfires had been sold in to the market at this time.
MH415, MH434, MK297 and MK923 were active on European film work in this pre BoB film period.
Without sight of a ‘screen grab’ I can’t be 100%, but MK297 would be my logical candidate. Of course it may be out-take material from the ‘Longest day’ from 1961/2.
