Spitfire Visitor Centre, Hangar 42, Blackpool Airport

I spent a few hours at this lovely little museum last weekend.  Lots to see there, but I’m sure I didn’t get round everything!  If you have a bit of extra cash kicking around, you can have a go on the full-scale Spitfire simulator (which I didn’t get a photo of, sadly), or you can try your hand at shooting down some nasty little Heinkels having a crack at bombing the Pleasure Beach on a mini-simulator (which, incidentally, had been used in the filming of Grandpa’s Great Escape, alongside the Spitfire Mk.II replica there).

And, for a small donation to the museum, you can sit in the Mk.II!
